There are an infinite number of wonderful beaches throughout the world, and opinions are diverse as to the best of them all. Here is a list of many that are recognized as some of the best beaches on earth.
Antigua – This Island is reported to have over 350 beaches. Resort areas will offer more amenities to go along with your beach outing.
Aruba – The best beaches on the island will be found along the strip of resort hotels. The beaches are white sand, warm, and generally in this area calm.
Abacos, Bahamas – Some of the finest beaches can be found here in the Abacos. If you are planning a vacation to the Caribbean, be sure to consider Guana Cay and Treasure Cay as many consider these unspoiled beaches to be some of the best in the region.
Barbados – Barbados is an island with an English history and feel to it, including buildings dating back to English colonial times. It has miles of beautiful white beaches surrounding it. Rougher surf conditions are to be found on the Atlantic side, but they are complemented by tamer conditions on the Caribbean side of the island.
Bermuda – Well recognized as having some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, they have very fine white sand that possesses a characteristic pink hue due to calcium carbonate deposition from former coral reefs. Here you will find both large and expansive beaches as well as smaller comfortably sized beaches. As with so many places around the world, the larger resort hotels will have access to some of the best beaches to be found in the area. This may limit some access to certain areas, but if you are staying in these hotels, you will have numerous amenities at your disposal.
Cayman Islands – This is a group of three islands located south of Cuba. The largest and most developed island is Grand Cayman, and here you will find the seven mile beach, considered by many to be one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. A favorite of many scuba divers and snorkelers, there are several outstanding hotels here offering extras such as private beaches, a pool, tennis, and snorkeling equipment rentals.
Rio de Janeiro – Rio has very famous beaches, mostly noted for their Brazilian flavor. The two most famous are the Copacabana and Ipanema.
St. Maarten – An island offering a paradise getaway in a French atmosphere. There is no shortage of beautiful beaches here, one of them being the beach at the La Samana Resort which is outstanding.
St. Bart’s – One of the many outstanding islands in the Caribbean, this island is known for it’s French atmosphere, crystal clear water, and white sandy beaches. Only eight miles long, it is ringed with 20 beaches and small coves.
Virgin Islands – St Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John make up the Virgin Islands. All offer outstanding beach going opportunities. St. John’s offers several horseshoe shaped private beaches at the Caneel Bay resort, while St. Thomas has widely reputed beautiful beaches at Magen’s Bay and Coki Beach.
